Floor lamp
Florence is a contemporary floor lamp composed of two metal sheets that fold back on themselves and then towards one another. The movement of the surfaces creates a soft, continuous shape, transforming a structural material into a presence with a fluid outline.
The two sheets appear to draw together in a kind of embrace. The geometry arises directly from bending the metal, bringing together solid forms, openings and curves without applied decorative elements.
A geometric progression of microperforations runs across the metal surfaces. The openings interrupt the continuity of the material and become part of the lighting design, creating a pattern that gradually changes along the body of the lamp.
Light is diffused by reflection and filtered through the microperforations. It thus interacts with the metal surface, creating different intensities, points of light and visual variations rather than emerging as a uniform beam.
With its vertical form, Florence introduces a sculptural presence into the living area that can be appreciated even when the lamp is switched off. When switched on, the relationship between metal, perforations and light makes the continuity of the shape even more apparent.
Florence interprets HESSENTIA lighting through the relationship between geometry, metal and reflected light: two folded surfaces define the volume, while the progression of microperforations transforms the material into a luminous pattern.
