Floor lamp
Heron is a contemporary floor lamp created through the meeting of artistic glass, metal and poplar burl. Two metal arches rise from the base and cross at different heights near the top, defining a dynamic, recognisable vertical composition.
The structure alternates between shiny and brushed metal parts. The different finishes change the way light is reflected and highlight the movement of the arches, creating a balance between structural precision and surface variation.
Light is spread through glass spheres hand-blown by master glassmakers in the Venice area. This craftsmanship brings the Italian tradition of blown glass into the lamp, making each element part of a process in which material and handwork remain closely linked.
The spheres are crafted using the Balloton technique, a glassmaking process that creates a distinctive crisscross relief pattern on the surface. The texture changes the perception of the glass and shapes the passage of light through reflections and variations that enhance its depth.
At the base of the composition, poplar burl represent a natural, textured touch. The rounded, tray-like edge softens the outline and brings the richness of the wood into relation with the vertical metal structure.
Heron expresses HESSENTIA’s exploration of lighting through a dialogue between Venetian artistic glass, metal and wood. The Balloton technique, different metal finishes and poplar burl create a lamp in which light and material contribute to the same design.
